Employee’s Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has allotted a 12 digit Universal Account Number (UAN) for all the employees contributing to the Employee’s Provident Fund (EPF). If an employee changes his job, he need to communicate his UAN to the current employer. The employer will request to the EPFO to generate a new member ID for the employee. These new member id will be linked to the UAN of the employee.

By using this UAN number, every UAN member/ EPF member can easily find their salary slip. Newly joined employees can not know on how to download the EPF Pay Slip and PF Salary Report. If the salary slip is not possible to making of printed pay slip then you should contact the HR Department.

Universal Account Number UAN Activation Registration Procedure

Go to the EPF Indian official website at epfindia.com, and then go to the ‘Our Services’ link, then click on ‘For Employees’ link,

In the service section, click on ‘Member UAN/ Online Services’ link, then it will go to the UAN Portal,

You can also directly go to the link through this link i.e, unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/

Note: Keep the registered mobile number at the time of activattion of Universal Account NUmber (UAN).

Give the fields of UAN, mobile number and PF member ID, Captcha characters. Then click on ‘Get Authorization PIN’ button, then you will receive a PIN number to the registered mobile number.

Enter the PIN number/ OTP number in the space provided, then accept ‘I Agree’ button under the Disclaimer checkbox and then click on ‘Validate OTP and Activate UAN’.

If the Universal Account Number is activated successfully, your account password will be sent to the registered mobile number.

Keep the password and go the UAN portal login section, enter your UAN as id and with the password you have received to your mobile number. After login in the UAN portal, change the password, if want to change or you can keep the password.

How to Know Your UAN Status on Online

We have provided, some steps in below on how to know the Universal Account Number (UAN). In case your are not able to get the UAN from your employer, you can also obtain the UAN number through UAN portal. Follow the below steps for knowing the UAN:

• Go to the UAN Official portal at unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/
• Click on ‘Know your UAN Status’ link (Placed at Right Below on the home page),

• It will open a new tab, Enter your fields like Member ID, Aadhar, Pan, Name of the Employee, Date of Birth (DOB), Mobile Number and Email Id and Captcha Characters and then click on ‘Get Authorized Pin’.
• An OTP/ PIN number will be sent to your registered mobile number, enter the PIN number at the placed provided and then click on ‘Validate OTP and gte UAN’ button.
• After completed successfully, your UAN number will be sent to your mobile number.
